The Quartz system is built on the principal of the internet of things (IoT). With the quartz application powered by the Predix platform from General Electric, one can control electrical appliances, analyse the energy consumption and cost as well as predict when one needs to change a light bulb.

I designed the database of the system, including the entire architecture. I was responsible for developing the backend code that processes the data received from the sensors and populating the database. I was also responsible for the communication between the mobile application and the IoT device (light bulb).
